WILBUR G. PEARCE
April 26, 1935 – August 4, 2025
YOUNGSVILLE – Wilbur Gray Pearce, 90, of Youngsville, passed away Monday evening at his home.
Wilbur was the son of the late Lumas “Fab” Pearce and Minta Perry Pearce. He was preceded in death by his brothers Cecil Pearce, Shelton Pearce, and Odell Pearce; and granddaughter Miranda Lynn Wheeler.
Wilbur was a man of simple joys and steadfast routines, known best for the deep love he had for his cows and his trusty John Deere tractor, which he tended to with great care. Every other Tuesday of the month, without fail, Wilbur could be found sharing laughs and stories over hotdogs with his brothers—a tradition that brought him endless happiness and a sense of home. His gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering loyalty to family will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Harrs Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Haley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rice Pearce; son Tony Pearce of Youngsville; daughter Tammy Weathers and husband Bobby of Wake Forest; brothers Pete Pearce (Vann) of Bunn, James Pearce (Becky) of Raleigh, Bobby Pearce (Ann) of Rolesville, and Russell “Hambone” Pearce of Bunn; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harris Chapel Baptist Church, 2960 Tarboro Rd. Youngsville, NC 27596.
Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg. www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
