Vann Hayes “Bobby” Gupton, 81, of Louisburg, died Friday afternoon, January 20, 2023.

Bobby was the son of the late E. Morton Gupton and Maud H. Gupton Smith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann G. Wadsworth and his stepfather, Roy Smith.

Bobby was a member of Hickory Rock Baptist Church. He was one of the most influential farmers in Franklin County, he also owned and operated V.H. Gupton Grocery and V.H. Gupton Construction.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Hickory Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Haley officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. The  Burial will then follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends will also be received at other times at the home of Tim and Nell Gupton 1056 White Level Road.

Bobby is survived by his son, Timothy Gupton; mother of his son, Nell S. Gupton; niece, Jane Wadsworth Piercy and Charles Piercy; nephew, Mort and Isabelle Ruiz Wadsworth; great nephew, William M Wadsworth II and spouse, Ashlyn; and loving and supportive caregiver, Marie Harper; former wife, Cheryl Dozier and his stepchildren, Casey & Tiffany.
