LOUISBURG – Wyatt Wilson “Sonny” Thayer, Jr., 81, of Louisburg, died Wednesday morning at his home.

Sonny was a son of the late W.W. and Mildred Russell Thayer, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle E. Thayer; sister, Marilyn T. Edwards and his brother, Buddy Thayer.

Services will be private.

Sonny is survived by his daughter, Jamie Thayer; son, Teddy Thayer and  grandson, Thayer Jones all of Louisburg; sisters, Myra T. Endler of Garrison, NY and Nina T. Reynolds and her husband, Barney of Raleigh; the mother of his children, Allen Dunaway of Louisburg; nieces and nephews.
