RUSSELL D. SULLIVAN
May 22, 1959 – August 24, 2025
Russell David Sullivan, 66, of Spring Hope, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, 24th August 2025, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Russell was the son of the late Tom and Lorraine Marison Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susie Sullivan.
Russell is survived by his wife, Liz Powell; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Sullivan and Emily Rosenberger; daughter, Amanda Sullivan; brothers and sisters-in-law, T.J. Sullivan Jr., Michael and Denise Sullivan, Dennis and Ellen Sullivan, Joel Sullivan, Paul and Tammy Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews. Rebecca and John Londa, Mason Londa, Richard Spillane, Jazlynn Spillane are amongst his extended family.
Russell was a devoted, dependable, vibrant, and creative person with a lifelong passion for learning new skills. He loved spending time with friends and family and was trusted by his colleagues at work. He loved the ocean, motorcycle trips, camping, and constantly nurtured his curiosity with projects. He was a free spirit and lived in Connecticut, Texas, Colorado, and finally settled in Spring Hope, North Carolina. He saw himself as reserved but was quick to smile, laugh, and made new acquaintances feel at home. He loved to tell stories about nuclear submarine bases, riding motorcycles at the Tail of the Dragon, Mako shark fishing, and childhood in Coventry, where he also raised his children. His abundance of stories is testament to a life well lived. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
