RONALD L. RONK

March 16, 1940 – April 9, 2020

LOUISBURG - Ronald L. Ronk, 80, of Louisburg, died peacefully at home.  He was born in New Paltz, NY to Herbert and Vera Atkins Ronk.  He was predeceased by his father, his wife of 44 years and the mother of his children, Marla Pritchet Ronk, and his second wife, Maryann Miller Ronk. 

          Ron is survived by his loving companion, Carole Vetter, his mother, Vera Atkins Ronk, and his siblings: Linda Dembicki of Hyde Park, NY, Clyde (Peggy) Ronk of Greenfield Center, NY, Patricia (Ed) Minnerly of Manning, SC, Gary (Denise) Ronk of New Paltz, NY, Jill (Wayne) Depew of Winter Haven, FL, and Sharon (Herbert) Jones of Clintondale, NY; his daughters: Mindi (Tom) Haynes of New Paltz, NY and Stephanie Ronk of Auburn, NY; his granddaughters: Rebecca Haynes of Rifton, NY, Katherine Haynes of Kingston, NY and Veronica Haynes-Rogers of Cairo, NY; his great grandchildren: Madelynn, Preston, Suki and Marla; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

          Ron retired from Love Effron in Poughkeepsie, NY in 2004 after 36 years. He had a great sense of humor, loved pretty cars, enjoyed watching dirt track racing, camping and spending time with his family. 

          Due to current restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
