Ronald Douglas McConnell Sr:
September 24, 1948 - October 12, 2024
Ronald Douglas McConnell, Sr., 76 of Raleigh, passed away Saturday morning at his home with his family by his side.
Ronald was a Sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After the war he became an HVAC contractor in Raleigh and was the owner and operator of Comfort Creators Heating and Air.
His joys of life were family, his John Deere’s, Beach Music, Shagging, adult beverages and cookouts with family and friends. He will be remembered as a man of many words that played his music loud and proud! He was a storyteller who enjoyed sharing his opinions and philosophies of life.
Ronald was preceded in death by his loving Mother Virginia M Ransdell, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Ronald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Janice McConnell, Jr of Raleigh. Brothers, Lynn, Vick, and Phillip McConnell all of Raleigh; Grandchildren, Victoria McConnell and husband Chris of Raleigh; Cherston Jacobs-Neal of Austin, Tx; Great-Grandchildren, Amber, Tyler, and Skyler McConnell of Raleigh; and Alexander Souza of Austin, Tx. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and compassion given by Heartland Hospice to Ronald and our family during this difficult time of our lives.
The family will receive friends and family from 7pm-8:30pm, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg. Burial will follow in the Ransdell Family Cemetery. The family will then continue to celebrate his life at the family home after burial.
