ROBERT A. SHIELDS

July 3, 1947 – July 25, 2024

Robert Allen Shields, 77, of Louisburg, passed away Thursday afternoon at Wake Med. 

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Quentin L. Shields and his mother and stepfather, Joyce H. and Robert Gosse; sister, Linda Shields.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lynda L. Shields; son, Robert J. Shields; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Greg Kunnmann of Morehead City; Laura and Nick Vazquez of Holtsville, NY; stepbrother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruth Gosse of Concord; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6 – 7:30 pm Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Franklin County Senior Center 279 S. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC 27549.
