RITA MARKS BAILEY
May 19, 1971 - September 1, 2024
Rita Marks Bailey, 53, of White Level, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her home.
Her 28 years with the Franklin County School System began and ended at Edward Best, where she was the data manager/bookkeeper. Rita was dearly loved and respected by all staff, students, and the community. She planned to retire from Edward Best in two years to spend more time with her grandchildren. Instead, the Lord decided to call her home for an earlier rest.
Rita was the beloved daughter of Ronald and Wanda Leonard Marks. She is preceded in death by her daddy, Ronald Marks; paternal grandparents Prescott and Margaret Marks; maternal grandparents Burnell and Sedonia (Snooche) Leonard; and uncle Bobby Marks.
She is survived by her mama, Wanda Marks; son Tyler Bailey (Kaley); daughter Celina Bailey; grandchildren Lily, Landon, and Hunter Bailey all of White Level; Stepchildren, Tara (Brandon) Ray, Jarrett (Jenny), and Shana DePizzol; Sister, Denise (Richard) Melvin of Elm City and brother, Josh (Connie) Marks of White Level. She is also survived by aunts, Annette Leonard, Elaine Finch (Donnie), Cymp Marks and uncle Walter Marks. Nieces, Logan and Caitlyn Melvin and Anna Marks. Nephews, Austin and Eli Marks, and multiple cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Rita Bailey Memorial Fund established for her grandchildren. All donations can be made payable to the "Rita Bailey Memorial Fund" and mailed to 216 King Rd, Castalia, NC 27816, to the attention of Tyler Bailey.
A graveside celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Red Bud Baptist Church, 832 NC Hwy 58, Castalia, NC 27816. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
