RICKY L. POWELL

Ricky Lee Powell of Louisburg, NC (previously of Wharton, WV) left this Earth on September 22, 2020 after a long illness.

He was born on December 11, 1967 at Boone Memorial in Madison, WV to the late James (Jim) Powell and Mary Etters (Powell) Elswick.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Krissa Powell, maternal grandparents Ira and Bertha Etters, paternal grandparents Theodore (Red) and Opal Powell, and step brother Ritchie Elswick.

Ricky was a 1987 graduate of Van High School in WV. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Louisburg, NC. Ricky loved his German shepherd dog Jesse and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching Marshall football.

Those left to cherish his memory are his stepmom Darlene Powell of Coleman FL, stepdad Phillip Elswick of Van WV, his brother James (Diana) Powell of Louisburg NC, stepsister Lisa (Andrew) Jones of Van WV, and stepbrother Sam (Sabrina) Elswick of Bob White WV. Nieces Harley Powell and Selena Elswick. Nephews Robert and Michael Valle, Wesley and Seth Elswick, and Christopher (Teaira) White. Special friends were Krista Eldridge, Dave Fitch, Banks, Ann and Tanya Denton. Along with a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
