Rhonda Whitley Mace, 60, of Middlesex, NC, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1964 to JoAnne Whitley and the late Ronnie F. Whitley.
She was a member of the Midpoint Church where she enjoyed being a servant of the Lord. Although other organs failed, her HEART OF GOLD did not! This was evident by the overwhelming love shown to her. She spent most of her adult life giving of herself to others. She was one of the most SELFLESS AND GENEROUS people you will ever meet. To know her was to love her. Heaven truly gained a beautiful angel. She was such a kind, genuine and faithful servant.
She is survived by her faithful husband, Wayne Mace, who went above and beyond his duty as a husband to make sure she had everything she needed; her mother, JoAnne Whitley (who was her Marketplace and Amazon traveler); her beloved sister, Sherri Gayle Waddell (Wayne); her nephew, Tyler Whitley, (Michelle) whom she loved more than life itself; her two nieces, Lauren Smith (Jackson); Logan Waddell (Tyler); Lauren's two beautiful children that she loved dearly, Brinley and Brady; Avery, her bonus great-nephew; and her father-in-law, Wayne A. Mace, Sr. (Charlie). Rhonda was loved by countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by father, Ronnie Whitley; her beloved brother, Kevin; her mother-in-law, Virginia Strickland Mace, her maternal grandparents, Doliver & Betty Hopkins; her parental grandparents, Floyd & Joyce Whitley; a very special niece, Ashlyn Brooke Poole; uncle, Ben Douglas Whitley; and cousin, Chris Whitley .
A Celebration of Rhonda's life will be held at the Midpoint Church in Middlesex, on Sunday, May 18th , at 3:00 p.m. A private entombment will be held at a later date.
