Phillis Ellington Parrish

Phillis “Tink” Ellington Parrish was born in Wake County, February 19, 1934.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ola Watkins Ellington.  She graduated from Carolina College of Beauty Culture becoming a beautician with her own shop in the home.  She was a member of Hales Chapel Baptist Church singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School when her children were young.  She enjoyed spending time with family, the many friends from the community as well as the gatherings for the Senior Citizens at Hales Chapel and Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until 2:45 at Hales Chapel Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm and other times at the home of Tommy and Cindy Jackson, 3336 Zebulon Rd., Zebulon.

She is survived by her three children:  Tommy Jackson (Cindy), Lindy Holden (Jerry), and Donna Anderson (Ricky) all of Zebulon;  sister, Mary Hopkins of Zebulon; grandchildren, Shannon Jackson Sparks (Chris), Jason Jackson (Elizabeth), Jericho Holden (Rebecca), Casey Holden Pennypacker (Dan), Faith Anderson James (Joey) and Isaac Anderson; great grandchildren, Halei Carter, Madison Jackson, Jacob Pletcher, Carsyn Sparks, Dawson Holden, Holden Pennypacker and Harlow Grace James; and a great-great grandchild, Adilyn Lauer.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Claude Jackson and Douglas Parrish, sister Genavee Jackson and nephews, JA Jackson and Guy Jackson.
