MINNIE L. GAY

October 18, 1936 – August 3, 2023

SPRING HOPE - Minnie Lou Lamm Gay, 86, of the Seven Paths community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by her family.

Minnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was devoted to her family and enjoyed doing things for those in her community.  Minnie retired from First Citizens Bank after 31 years of service.  She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years.

Minnie was the daughter of the late Paul Benjamin Lamm and Edna Savage Lamm. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Wilson Gay, Jr., and sister Clara Ann Woods.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Holly Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the family life center.

Minnie is survived by her sons, Gary Gay and wife Kimberly of Pilot, and Gordon Gay and wife Cheryl of Garner; brother Earl Lamm and wife Ann of Stanhope; grandchildren Meredith Gay, Drew McLeod (Kirsty), and Deidra Ortega; and great-grandchildren Phoebe and James Thomas. The family would also like to give their thanks and appreciation to her caregiver, Georgia Butler.

The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holly Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, at 1640 Holly Rd., Spring Hope, NC 27882.
