MELVIN HOWARD WRENN
January 3, 1959 – December 12, 2023
Melvin Howard Wrenn, age 64, after his battle of cancer went to his eternal home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He was born in Wake County to John Earl and Bobbie Wrenn on January 3, 1959.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Earl Wrenn; his brother, Ronnie Earl Wrenn; and grandparents Dorsey and Pearl Wrenn, and Nathan and Aleathea Edwards.
He is survived by his faithful wife, Frankie Lou Bartholomew Wrenn of Louisburg; his mother, Bobbie Edwards Wrenn of Louisburg; his son Jason Wrenn of Louisburg; daughter Ashley Wrenn of Mebane; grandchildren Ian McCray and Dylan Wrenn of Zebulon, Jesse, Chealsea, and Lettie Harris of Mebane; sister Jennifer Wrenn Sanderson (Mike) of Wilmington; sister-in-law Ella Wrenn of Louisburg; brother-in-law Dale Truelove of Louisburg; great aunt Polly Cheaves of Louisburg; four nieces and nephews- Jonathan Wrenn (Carleigh), Leeanda Jarsakaray (RJ), John Cannon (Amie), Brett Lipe (Christina); five great nieces and nephews- Luke and Julie Lipe, Elijah, Evelyn, and Eowyn Cannon; step-children Kenneth Faulkner (Ashley) of Creedmoor, Dr. Hallum Dickens (Dani) of Wisconsin, Hadeer Youssef of Louisburg, Khlud Cardenas (Edgar) of Louisburg; Four step grandchildren Bobby, Charleston, and Andrew Faulkner, and Mia Cardenas.
Melvin worked with Franklin Supply as a sales rep, owned and operated Pitt Supply in Greenville. After a life changing experience he joined Durham Rescue Mission in 2008 as a resident and then a staff member as an Encourager. He touched many lives and his legacy will continue through the lives at the Mission.
A funeral service to celebrate Melvin’s life will be at Rock Spring Church on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.. Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rock Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
