MARY RIGGAN LOVIN

February 9, 1953 – February 17, 2021

BUNN – Mary Elizabeth Riggan Lovin, 68, of Bunn, passed away on Wednesday, February 17th, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 9, 1953, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of William H. Riggan, Jr. of Warren County, NC and Earis Marie Coppedge of Franklin County, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers, Jerry Lee Riggan and Robert Jackson Riggan.

          She is survived by her husband, Mike Lovin of the home and her two daughters, Jennifer Lovin and Melanie Lovin of Bunn. A step-mother, Dorothy N. Riggan of Chesterfield, VA along with a brother, Bill Riggan and wife Vickie; sister, Patricia Riggan of Santa Fe, New Mexico and many nieces and nephews.

          Mary was a 30 year employee of the State of North Carolina having worked for the NC National Guard, NC Department of Public Instruction and the Governors Office. She retired in 2010 and was conferred the prestigious “Order of the Long Leaf Pine” by Governor Beverly Perdue.

          Puddin’pop, wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, Girl Scout, mountain girl, holiday decorator, skinny legs, mousey brown hair, giver of the “look” and sweetheart were the descriptions of the family and friends that loved her very much. She will be missed by all of those who knew her.
