MARY DELORES EVANS

July 7, 1953 – July 21, 2025

Mary Delores Evans, 72, of Louisburg, passed away Monday afternoon at Maria Parham Hospital surrounded by her family.

Delores was the daughter of the late Alvin Everette Evans and Christine Lois Gilliam Evans. She was preceded in death by her brother, Linville Evans.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service.

Delores worked for many years at the Wilson Daily Times. She also worked at Strickland Auto Sales. She loved to cook and enjoyed cooking for her family when they would gather together. She adored her pet chickens and rabbits, and especially loved her dog, Bella.

Delores is survived by her brothers, Lewis Evans and wife Joyce of Louisburg, Sherwood Evans and wife Donna of Louisburg, and Phillip Evans and wife Doris of Midland; sister-in-law Beverley Evans; lifelong friend, Matt David Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.
