MARY B. TONEY

February 14, 1927 – January 31, 2023

Mary Boone Toney, 95, formerly of Louisburg, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Mary was the daughter of the late James Herbert and Frances Frazier Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband Burt F. Peoples, Sr., son Frank Peoples, and sisters Hazel McClure and Athlea Shelton.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg.

Mary is survived by her sons Oden Spivey of Knightdale, Francis Toney (Diana), and James Toney (Gay Nell), all of Garner; grandchildren Danny Peoples, Jennifer Peoples, Stephanie Spivey, Blaine Toney, and Daniel Toney; and great-grandchildren River and Phoenix Peoples, and J. C. Wuester.
