MARTHA JUNE ESCALANTE

April 3, 1931 – March 26, 2022

Martha June Escalante 90, of Wendell, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning with her daughter by her side.  She loved Jesus and her family more than anything.  We will miss her and love her until we meet again.

Born in Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Emma Burl Poling Ingram.  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by husband, Fidel Escalante; children, Jim and Robert Hillard, Karen Jean Hillard and Carolyn McGill; stepbrother, Randy Currey.

          She is survived by her children, Ken Hillard of Ill., Brenda Hillard of Wendell, Linda Rethford (Mike), Nancy Jarvis, and Linda Marlene Carnell Rice all of VA; sister Jean Mitchell of VA and stepsister, Sandie McGibbons of FL. 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

          A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Beulah Christian Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service 1:00 – 1:45 pm.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
