MARIE H. SMITH

May 3, 1927 – October 20, 2023

Marie Harper Smith, 96, of Louisburg, passed away Friday afternoon at Franklin Oaks.

Marie was a native of Franklin County, and was the daughter of the late Forrest Harper and Beatrice Aycock Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Smith, Sr.; and son, Kenneth Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Lancaster Memorial Park in Louisburg.

Marie is survived by her sons, E. H. Smith and wife Nell, and Ricky Smith and wife Jodie; daughters, Joan Batton and husband Ricky, and Gloria Smith; grandchildren Ricky Batton, Shea Neal, Laura Rohrbaugh, Blair Smith, Chris Smith, Jennifer Robinson, and Jackie Miller; great-grandchildren Susan Pulliam, Jackson Neal, Crosby Rohrbaugh, Vivian Rohrbaugh, Mason Batton, Mackenzie Batton, Savannah Neal, Landon Cole Schlitz, Alaina Burbank, Dylan Burbank, and Austin Burbank; and great-great-grandchildren Hunter Thorne, Blayden Falls, and Allie Pulliam.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 3613 NC Hwy 561, Louisburg, NC 27549.
