KIRK E. FAULKNER

February 5, 1948 – March 6, 2023

LOUISBURG – Kirk Edison Faulkner, 75, of Louisburg, passed away Monday afternoon at WakeMed surrounded by his family. He was lovingly known as “Papa” by his children and grandchildren. Kirk served our country in the US Army and worked for many years as an electrical engineer.  He was a faithful Christian who served New Hope Christian Church and his community. In his spare time, Kirk could be found working on his boat or Swimaloo fishing lure, or listening to the radio in his old truck. Kirk never knew a stranger and would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

Kirk was the son of the late Perry Albert and Mamie Louise Denson Faulkner. He is preceded in death by his brothers Perry Faulkner, Jr. and Dwight N. Faulkner; and half-sisters Mildred Patton and Shirley Roberson.

A funeral service will be held at New Hope Christian Church on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will follow after the graveside in the fellowship hall.

Kirk is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda C. Faulkner; son Curtis Faulkner and wife Sharon; step-daughters Rhonda Tharrington and husband Dale, Michele Denton, and Kim Denton; grandchildren Alexandra Denton, Tabitha Cowger (Evan), and Christopher Holmes; brothers Douglas Faulkner, Fulton Faulkner, Gary Faulkner (Connie), and Thurston Faulkner (Sheila); sister Rita F. Boyd, and half-sister Edna Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kirk Faulkner Memorial Fund at New Hope Christian Church, at 2779 NC 98 Hwy., Louisburg, NC 27549.
