JOANNE G. THARRINGTON

April 11, 1936 – November 24, 2021

CASTALIA – Joanne Griffin Tharrington, 85, of the Red Bud Community, died Wednesday afternoon at her home.  

Joanne was a daughter of the late Hallie and Melvie Collins Griffin. She was preceded in death by twin sisters Barbara Faye and Karen Kay Griffin and her brothers, Harold Griffin and Danny Griffin.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Red Bud Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James Tharrington; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ralph Powell; sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Candy Tharrington; Tim and Angie Tharrington all of the Red Bud Community; granddaughter, Brooke and Isaac Snyder of Thomasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Charlie Dickens of Raleigh; Doris and Tommy Thompson of the White Level Community; Hope and Randolph Lewis of Red Oak; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Peggy Griffin of Rocky Mount; Randy and Faye Griffin; sister-in-law, Marlene Griffin all of the White Level Community; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to White Level Rescue Squad, 2465 White Level Rd. Louisburg, NC 27549.
