Jessie J. Stone

MIDDLESEX — Jessie Faye Stone, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 2, 2022. She was born on November 26th, 1937. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was gifted with creativity and loved decorating wedding cakes, painting porcelain dolls and ceramics, and sewing. She was also an amazing cook and operated a small country restaurant in Bailey for a few years. Those who knew her were blessed by all her homemade treats including apple cobbler, spaghetti, peanut butter Easter eggs, and every Christmas candy conceivable. When not baking, decorating, or painting, she and her husband loved to take trips on their RV to the North Carolina mountains, Canada, and even Alaska.

Her parents, Doris Murray Smith and Hallie Jernigan preceded her death. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 dedicated years, Donald Stone; children Scotty Stone, Todd (Kim) Stone, Lisa (Johnny) Barnes, Matthew (Tiffany) Stone, Chris (Carmen) Stone; siblings, Samp (Jane) Jernigan, Harry (Carolyn) Smith, Allen Smith, Pat (Dennis) Minder, Carmen (Robert) Fonville, Robert Jernigan, Judy (Jeff) Jorgensen, Becky (Tommy) Haley; grandchildren Sara Stone, Jessica (Sean) Iverson, Andrew Stone, Zachary Stone, Brittany (Ryan) Pruitt, Kyle (Natalie) Stone, Dylan Stone, Bethany (Grayson) Allison, Joshua (Rachel) Barnes, Jacy (Charles) Clapp, Mikayla Stone, Natalie Stone, Jillian Stone, Isabela Stone, and 5 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, at Midpoint Church, 5407 S NC Hwy. 231, Middlesex NC, 27557. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Midpoint Church.

Flowers will be accepted to Midpoint Worship Center or memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice of Nash UNC Health Care.
