Jeffrey Lee Hough

Jeffrey Lee Hough, 56, of Nashville, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Rocky Mount. He was born November 7, 1963 in Wake County, a son of the late Clarence and Frances (Lee) Hough. Along with his parents, Jeffrey was predeceased by his brother, Clarence Craven Hough, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 o’clock, Friday afternoon, July 31, 2020 in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home.

Jeffrey worked as a foreman for the lineman for the past ten years. He worked in a bucket truck all of his life, chasing storms. Jeffrey loved his work no matter how hard it was and in his last week he managed to get back into a bucket.

He loved riding his motorcycles; racing them until something broke. Then he would spend time bonding with his son Craven fixing the bike until it was up and running again. Anything he could have done to make that bike go faster, he did. Everyone could hear him coming five miles away on that bike. He had every intention to take all his grandkids for a joyride when they were old enough. Jeffrey loved his children and grandchildren more than anything, making sure to stop in every Sunday for leftover breakfast. He loved guns and shooting targets. He was definitely a collector of guns, because he had more than he ever needed. Jeffrey will be remembered for his candidness, always telling what was on his mind, a strong family man, always there for his family, known for as  the protector and provider, and for having a big heart. The outdoors was where he enjoyed being the most, taking walks with his dog Purdy and traveling. His family will remember him as a loving family man who would always spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Jeffrey is survived by his two children: Jeffrey Craven Hough and his wife, Crystal of Spring Hope, and Melissa Brook Hough of Nashville; grandchildren: Rachel and Brianna Hough, and Korbin Batts; and his sidekick Purdy. He will be missed by his family and all of his friends.
