JAMES "JIM BOB" HARRIS
April 7, 1957 - June 7, 2025
LOUISBURG - James “Jim Bob” Harris, 68, of the Margaret community, passed away Saturday morning at his home. He was born and raised in Wayne Co. Graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1976. Jim Bob had never meet a stranger. He retired from Southern Rigging after 26 years of operating a crane. He had a huge heart for any animal. He loved spending his time with his horse “Jake the Wild man” and helping his father and brother around the farm with the cattle. He was a former member of Justice Volunteer Fire Dept.
James was the son of John F. Harris, Jr. and Johnsy B. Harris. He was preceded in death by his mother.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, June 11, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home.
James is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tammy G. Harris; daughter, Jamie Harris; father, John F. Harris Jr; brother, John F. Harris III and Lisa Rhea, all of Louisburg; sister, Frances Wilder and husband Ryon, of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
His boots may be empty, but his footprints remain—in the soil he worked, the lives he touched, and the trails he rode.
