JAMES WILLIAM WHEELER
January 13, 1940 – June 5, 2025
James “Bill” William Wheeler, 85, of Lake Royale, went home to be with the Lord Thursday evening at Maria Parham Hospital. He was born in Johnston County, the son of the late William Wheeler and Maggie Creech Wheeler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jennene and Ronnie Faulkner and sister, Ruth Creech.
Bill retired as director of Engineering with Revlon Cosmetic Company. He began singing gospel music with his mother at the age of 8 years old and sang with the Unashamed Southern Gospel Quartet for many years. He was also a retired farmer, raising hay and clearing lots at Kerr Lake with his portable sawmill. He and Natalia owned and operated Wheeler’s Walking Horse Farm where they raised Tennessee Walking Horses. The love of dove and deer hunting, fishing and boating at Kerr Lake brought many hours of enjoyment over the years. He lived a full and enjoyable life, but most of all he loved his family and his Lord.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Bunn Baptist Church with Reverend Tyler Fink officiating. A private family burial will follow in the Meadowview Memorial Park in Oxford. The family will receive friends on Wednesday prior to the service from 10:00 – 10:45 AM.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Natalia P. Wheeler; daughter, Renee Wheeler Driver of Zebulon; son and daughter-in-law, Jamy and Kathy Wheeler of Raleigh; granddaughter, Hannah Bailey and husband, Daniel Bailey of Wendell; step grandson, Bobby Sellers of Wendell; step great-grandchildren, R.J., Allie Ann and Reagan Sellers; brother-in-law, Jurgen Seiffert and wife, Lois of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews; and his special fur baby, Charlie.
