GLADYS S. AYCOCK
October 10, 1944 – November 15, 2022
LOUISBURG – Gladys Smith Aycock, 78, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning. Gladys was the daughter of the late James H. Smith and Onnie Smith Pruitt. She was preceded in death by her son, Travis Gupton; daughter, Danelle D. Hicks; brother, James Thomas Smith and her sister, Gray S. Haithcock.
Gladys was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She graduated from Louisburg High School in 1963 and then went on to work for the Franklin County Register of Deeds and the Franklin County Board of Elections.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Maple Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the burial in the church fellowship hall.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 41 years, Johnny Aycock; daughter, Danette Denton; step-son, Bobby (Jo) Aycock; sisters, Lois S. Ellis and Deborah L. Smith; son-in-law, Scott Hicks; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 1938 NC 56 Hwy E., Louisburg, NC 27549.
