Frances Neal Allen, age 87, of Louisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2023. She was born on April 26, 1936, to the late Peter Stapleton Allen, Sr., and Annie Willis Boddie Allen. She was preceded in death not only by her parents but also by her brother, Peter Stapleton Allen, Jr., and nephew, Derek Todd Allen.
Frances proudly resided in Louisburg for a significant portion of her life. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in business, she relocated to Manhattan, New York. She soon returned to the Raleigh area, where she lived for many years before coming back home to Louisburg. Upon retirement from Colonial Stores, she continued to work locally at Byrd’s Supermarket. She was an avid reader, gardener, Tarheel basketball fan, and private soul, but what she cherished most was spending time with family.
Frances is survived by her nieces, Dana Allen Garrett (Bill) and Fran Allen Daughtridge (Wes), and her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, Grace and Will Garrett and Sage and Colton Daughtridge.
Frances was a blessing to her family and friends; her smile and laugh could light up any room and will forever be cherished. Frances will be deeply missed by many; yet, all who love her find a special peace in knowing that she is now truly home, where she always longed to be.
At Frances’s request, no service will be held; however, a private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and brother.
