FRANCES C. MOODY

April 22, 1937 – January 13, 2025

Frances Adell Cash Moody, 87, of Louisburg, passed away early Monday morning at her home.

Frances was the daughter of the late Dock and Adell Cash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Thomas Moody; sister, Ava Perry; and brothers, Maylon Cash and Jack Cash.

Frances met her husband, Claude, while she was on a blind date with someone else. He saw her sitting in the car and shined a flashlight in her face and asked her out in front of her date. And the rest is history. They got married on December 24, 1955.

Frances worked for Williams Insurance Company in Rolesville for several years, and Cooper Insurance Company in Louisburg for 10 years, before going to work for the Franklin County Inspections Office. She retired from the county in 1999.

Frances loved God, family, friends, and was a child magnet. All the kids in the family and community loved her. Children would flock to her because of her kind, loving nature and she loved them.

She loved and nurtured three children, Terri, Greg, and Micky, and treasured her husband, Claude. She also loved and nurtured seven grandchildren, and loved and enjoyed 18 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church and was very active with Vacation Bible School through the years.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 1:45 PM. Burial will follow the service at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Frances is survived by her sons, Greg Moody and wife Jeanie, and Micky W. Moody and wife Michelle, all of Louisburg; daughter, Terri M. Phelps, of Louisburg; brother, Darrell Cash; grandchildren Jacob T. Moody (Kristany), Joshua W. Moody, Sean W. Moody (Autumn), Paige P. Hunter (Matt), Erica M. King (Ricky), Erin M. Perry (Matt), and Emily M. Shearin (Brandon); and great-grandchildren, Ember Moody, Lilly Perry, Preslee King, Foster King, Haven Shearin, Etta Mae Moody, Levi Thomas Moody, Haddie Shearin, Keagan King, Maverick King, Marshall Perry, Porter Perry, Everleigh Moody, River Moody, Steven Phelps, Justin Hunter, and Olivia Hunter.
