EVELYN ROWE STRICKLAND

May 12, 1936 – March 14, 2024

Evelyn Rowe Strickland, 87, of Louisburg, passed away on Thursday morning at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.

Evelyn was the daughter of the late Walter E. Rowe and Addie Lee Matthews Rowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Strickland, Jr.; daughter, Judy Strickland Smith; and brothers, Billy Rowe and Bob Rowe.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, March 18, at the Strickland Family Cemetery. She will lie in state at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, March 17, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.

Evelyn is survived by her grandson, Cale “Red” Smith (Lorrie Faulkner), of Henderson; son-in-law, Harold Smith, Jr. (Faye); great-grandchildren Waylon and Shelby Smith; brother Jimmy R. Rowe (Jean Matthews); brother-in-law Bobby Strickland (Dolly); and sisters, Mary Lou R. Green, Emma Jean Rowe, and Joann Rowe.
