DEBORAH A. DRAKE
June 8, 1952 – April 9, 2021
LOUISBURG – Deborah Ann Drake, 68, of Louisburg, died peacefully Friday morning.
Debbi was preceded in death by her mother, Merlene H. Drake and her sister, Robin D. Adams.
Debbi, beloved daughter, niece, sister and aunt, is survived by her father, Enid Drake; her
brother Jack, sisters: Paula, Cindy and Becky and brothers-in-law, Kenneth, Joseph and Felix, Aunts: Nene and Shirley and nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by her family, her kitty, her neighbors and dear friends, and many in Louisburg who knew her from her work in local restaurants.
Debbi attended Louisburg College and went on to study at Western Carolina. She was an avid supporter of her Dad’s basketball teams at Louisburg College.
Throughout her life, Debbi adored the music of the Woodstock era, and especially loved to sing along with Janis Joplin. She enjoyed her kitchen, cooking, and going to the Farmers Market to shop for ingredients for her favorite recipes. She loved the color red and was often gifted with red glass to add to her collection.
As the oldest of six siblings, Debbi affected the family in ways she never knew, and her influence will be warmly felt and remembered.
The family expresses gratitude to all her caregivers at the Laurels of Forest Glen throughout the past year. She told many stories of the kindnesses and laughter she enjoyed with therapists, aids, nurses and her roommate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to support animal adoption and care.
Services will be private.
