David Elton Champion

April 3,1957 – July 29, 2024

 

Louisburg, NC – David Elton Champion, 67, of Louisburg, NC passed away into the loving arms of Jesus early in the morning of July 29, 2024. He was a resident of Cadence of Wake Forest.       

David was preceded in death buy his wife, Anna B. Champion; his brother, Billy Joe Champion; and his nephew Michael Holden.           

He is survived by his brother, Jimmy of Perry, Florida; his sisters Rena Dillman of Louisburg, NC, and Debbie McCloud of Youngsville, NC; his nieces Lyndee Ivey and her husband David of Chalotte, NC, Jennifer Holden of Franklinton, NC, Tonya Herr and husband Mike of Quenton, VA; nephews Stephen Champion of Raleigh, NC, David Cheek and wife Becky of Oxford, NC; grandnephews Joshua and Collin, grandnieces, Elaina, Phemi, and Madison.

He is also survived by his loyal and dear friend Charles Holden, who stayed by David’s side since David went to live at Cadence. David’s family owes him a great debt of gratitude.

David retired from the Franklin Correctional Center in Bunn, NC. He loved to work with wood and made some beautiful things. His favorite place to eat was Subway. He never met a stranger and gave the best bear hugs! He was always willing to give a helping hand. Rest in peace, little brother. We’ll see you soon!
