Church was always a part of Connie’s life. During her school years, Connie attended Middlesex (Midpoint) Church of God with her mother. In June 1972, Michael and Connie both received Jesus as Lord and Savior at the Church of God Camp Meeting in Kenly, North Carolina. Over the next several years, Michael and Connie and family attended the Knightdale Church of God in Knightdale, NC; Sumter (Bethesda) Church of God in Sumter, SC; and the Southern Hills Church of God in Oklahoma City, OK. Connie always enjoyed attending camp meeting and ladies’ retreats.
Connie’s main interest was her family. Simply staying at home with Michael was always okay with her. She found great joy in being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and hearing what was going on in their lives. However, getting out with the “girl friends” when visiting North Carolina was always a great joy to her.
Connie loved Facebook. She would spend hours reading posts, looking at pictures and taking screen shots. Connie always found great delight in seeing her children and their family members in Facebook posts. Connie also enjoyed watching Brenda Gant cook and always got excited about a new recipe or discovery Brenda would share. Connie received great ministry from live stream services on Facebook to include Jentzen Franklin, Central Church, Southern Hills Church of God, Tim Hill, East Wake Church of God and Bethesda Church of God.
Connie proved herself to be very brave as she battled several health challenges in her life. She was an inspiration to many people, especially family.
Connie was always good company. Funny comments, a lot of laughter and good conversation were typical of time spent with her. Connie always had a good word of encouragement to give someone. Her smile was warm, friendly and reassuring. Connie brought great joy to many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.
Connie is survived by her husband, Michael; three children: Davie Todd and wife Lisa of Noble, Oklahoma, Morgan Todd and wife Tami of Sumter, South Carolina, and Dana Todd of Oklahoma City, OK; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and her brother, Barry J. Morgan and wife, Darnell of Louisburg.
