Clayton Adair, Sr. Obituary

 

Clayton E. Adair, Sr, 76, of Willow Spring, and formerly of Louisburg, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2020. He was born December 23, 1943, in Concord, New Hampshire, a son of the late Milton and Elizabeth (Bennett) Adair.

Clayton graduated from Colebrook High School in Colebrook, New Hampshire and King’s Business College in Raleigh. He was a proud Veteran that served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Blockade and in Vietnam. He retired after working many years at the Monsanto and the United States Postal Service.  He was known as “Bo” to his family and friends and “Bumba or BumBum” to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Reverend Dera Dupree Adair, his children:  Carol Dupree (Jackie) of New Bern, T. Mark Shearin of Louisburg, Clayton E Adair, II (Jennifer) of Louisburg, Reverend Willis Adair (Olivia) of Wilmington, Justine Shearin Ball (Derrick) of Louisburg, Elizabeth Adair of Louisburg, and Katelin Adair of Willow Spring; his grandchildren: Eila, Asher, Jude, Novaleigh, Meredith, Hailey and Derrick, whom he loved so dearly. Clayton is also survived by his two sisters: Brenda Gadwah and Cindy Grassi both of New Hampshire. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
