October 29, 1966 – September 11, 2019

DURHAM – Herbert Johnson Young, Jr., 52, of Durham, passed away Wednesday at his home.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert J. and Joyce R. Young. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marie and Hartford Ransdell; paternal grandparents, Josephine and Albright Young; uncles, Sammy Ransdell and Bobby O. Young.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ransdell Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Herb is survived by his aunts, Carolyn Ransdell (David); Gail Hockaday (Clyde); Debbie Duke (Mike); Anne Young; and many cousins.
