FAYLENE E. MURPHY

January 21, 1940 – June 27, 2019

CASTALIA – Faylene “Faye” Edwards Murphy, 79, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning surrounded by her family.

          Faye was the daughter of the late Alvin and Bessie Lee Edwards. She was preceded in death by her son, Clyde W. Murphy, Jr. and her brother, Coleman Edwards.

          Faye was a member of Red Bud Baptist Church and retired after 28 years of service with the Franklin County Department of Social Services. She loved to crochet blankets for different fund raisers. Faye was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

          A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Red Bud Baptist Church with visitation to follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

          Faye is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Clyde W. Murphy, Sr.; son, Michael D. Murphy; daughter-in-law, Lori Murphy all of Castalia; grandchildren, Shannon Murphy Ridout and husband, E.B.; Chris Murphy and wife, Caroline; Garrett Murphy.

          In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1284 NC 58 Hwy. Castalia, NC 27816.
