BETTY B. DENTON

January 25, 1930 – March 10, 2019

ZEBULON – Betty Brantley Denton, 89, of Zebulon, passed away peacefully at Louisburg Manor, on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

           She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, P.G. Denton; her parents, Graham Van and Ina Medlin Brantley and seven of her siblings.

            Betty was a stay at home wife and mother who devoted her life to caring for her family, whom she loved dearly.  She was a godly woman committed to her church where she faithfully served with the WMU, as a Sunday School teacher and in other positions.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and quilting and was a member of the Pilot Quilters Club.  She was a gentle and caring soul who always put others before herself.

            She is survived by her children, Van Denton and wife Vicky of Bunn; Kimberly Gay and husband Gary of Zebulon; Scott Denton and wife Regina of Beech Mountain, her grandchildren, Patrick Denton, Aaron Denton, Jay Denton, Ashley Denton, Meredith Gay, Jordan Denton, Tiffany Coward and Hannah Coward and her great-grandchildren, Emma Denton, Brooke Denton, Abigail Denton, Savannah Denton, Laine Denton, Noah Denton, Remy Denton and Breck Denton; sisters, Frankie Bissett and Willie Williams.    

               Funeral services will be held at Pilot Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 12 at 3:00 PM.  Visitation will be held at 1:30 – 2:45 PM prior to the service.  Burial will be at the family cemetery immediately following. 

           In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Transitions Hospice Care of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC  27607.
