R. JERRY STRICKLAND

October 25, 1947 – October 24, 2016

LOUISBURG – Roland Jerry Strickland, 68, of the Lake Royale Community, died Monday morning. 

Jerry was a son of the late H. Candler and Frances B. Strickland. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Strickland.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Maple Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy Strickland; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Sheila Strickland; Ray and Crystal Kennedy all of Louisburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and John Horton of Selma; Lynette and Chris Harris of Cary; sister, Sharon Isley of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Judy J. Strickland of Youngsville; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 1938 NC 56 Hwy. E. Louisburg, NC 27549.
