RAYMOND W. SMITH

November 27, 1939 – September 10, 2017

BATTLEBORO – Raymond Wheeler Smith, 77, of Battleboro, died Sunday morning.

Raymond was a son of the late Ned and Effie W. Smith. He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Robert Billings.

Raymond was a member of White Level Community Holiness Church and a veteran of the Navy.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis S. Smith; sons, Wayne Smith and Greg Smith both of Raleigh; step-sons, David Joyner and wife, Lora of Greenville; Matt Joyner of Clayton; brother and sister-in-law, Ned and Cathy Smith of the White Level Community; 8 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to White Level Community Holiness Church, 481 Wood Rd. Louisburg, NC 27549.
