JOHN E. GARDNER, SR.

April 3, 1941 – July 16, 2017

CASTALIA – John Edward Gardner, Sr., 76, of the White Level Community, died Sunday evening at his home.

John was a son of the late B.K. “Goat” and Beulah G. Gardner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Collins Gardner; brother, Benjamin Kilgo Gardner, Jr. and sister, Jane Gardner Perry.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.

John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Lydia Gardner; grandson, Benjamin Gardner all of the White Level Community; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Malcolm Edwards of Greenwood, SC; Lois and Theodore Eaves of Epsom; Evelyn and Norbert Steinwedel of Charlotte; brother and sister-in-law, George “Buck” and Margaret Gardner of Clayton; sister-in-law, Dee Gardner of Rocky Mount.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to White Level Baptist Church, New Building Fund, 2400 White Level Rd. Louisburg, NC 27549.
