MIDDLESEX - Mr. Jesse Harold Stone went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.  What a symbolic day for him to receive his glorified heavenly body.  He was born April 4, 1933 to the late James William Stone and Mrs. Lettie Laroy Cone Stone.  He was known as a dedicated prayer warrior with a humble heart full of love, care, and compassion displayed by his selfless service to all.  Standing as the strong cornerstone for his family, he led by example and love daily as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.  As a devoted servant of Middlesex Church of God Worship Center he served as teacher, superintendent, bus ministry, building committee, men’s fellowship and most important faithful member.  To know him was to know the love of God.  Harold had a deep commitment to his family, his friends, and to his church.  His dedication to his faith was the strength of his very life and it was evident in his last breath as Heaven welcomed him with open arms.  Mr. Stone was a retired lumberman and partner in ownership of Stone Lumber Company in Bailey, North Carolina.

            In addition to his parents, Mr. Stone was predeceased by his wife, Doris Jean Hinton Stone; his step-mother, Thelma Rachel Hinton Stone; a son, Gary Harold Stone; brothers Junius B, Stone, John L. Stone, his twin Carold Stone, Eugene Stone, Kennon D. Stone, Jimmy D. Stone, his sister Betty Stone Hopkins, and brothers-in- law, Rev. Billy Franklin, Mack Donald Bissette, Doliver Hopkins, Rev. Chris Underwood and Michael Brownlee.

            Mr. Stone was blessed with five sons Rev. J. Roy Stone (Sandra) of Griffin, Georgia, Kim Stone (Susan) of Cleveland, Tennessee, Jeff Stone (Darlene) of Middlesex, North Carolina, Dan Stone (Banae) of Monroe, Michigan, and Rev. Tracy Stone (Lisa) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one daughter, Patty Whittington (Joe) of Middlesex, North Carolina; grandchildren Jacquelynn Ingle, Stephanee Sheets, Jessica Mundy, Courtney Stone, Ava Stone, Jonathan Stone, Jade Hawkins, Joseph Whittington, Jacob Whittington, T J Stone, Whitney Golde and Brett Hargis; great-grandchildren Jaylee Dyer, Zoee Sheets, Hailee Sheets, Kourtlynn Mundy, Malachi Mundy, Jonah Mundy, Ester-Joelle Mundy, JohnRyan Mundy, Mattus Stone, Broxton Stone, Emmet Stone, Piper Hawkins, Barrett Hawkins, Luke Golde, Emilie Golde, Jake Golde, Reed Hargis, and Ella Hargis.
            Mr. Stone is survived by seven brothers: Donald (Jessie), Wayne ( Sonya), Tony ( Brenda), Mike ( Sheila), Ted ( Denise), Daryl (Sandy), and Jack (Stephanie) Stone.  He is also survived by twelve sisters: Starr Dixon( Bernard), Katie Franklin, Sue Trammell (Joel), Brenda Whitley ( Doug), Sandra Carrero ( Gregorio), Jenny Brantley(Lee), Gloria Brownlee, Vickie Vest ( Lamar), Jill McKeel (Ricky), Jan Carothers (Carl), Ginger Varner (Rob) , and Wendy Blackmon (Bret).  He is also survived by sisters-in law, Margie, Josephine, Hunter Ann, Linda Kaye Stone and Judith Faircloth.

            The children of Mr. Stone wish to express sincere appreciation and a special thank you to Tina Lloyd for the exceptional care she provided for our father as well as the Wake Med Staff.

The family will receive friends at the Middlesex Church of God, 5407 South NC 231 Hwy, Middlesex, NC on Thursday evening, April 20, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  His life and ministry on this earth will be celebrated at the Middlesex Church of God on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  Commemorating his life will be his sons, Reverend Tracy Stone and Reverend J. Roy Stone, and Pastor, Reverend Ed Toler.  Mr. Stone will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife of 64 years in the Stone Family Cemetery adjacent to the Middlesex Church of God.
