JANICE S. HINNANT

Jan. 24, 1945 – Dec. 8, 2016

ROCK RIDGE – Janice S. Hinnant, 71, went home to be with the LORD Thursday morning with her husband by her side.  She was born in Johnston County, daughter of the late Marvin W. and Louise Pounds Strickland and was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Poole.

Funeral service will be held 2:30 Sunday at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Joel Story and Reverend Donnie Price officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving her husband  of 51 years, Rudolph Hinnant; daughters, Tonya Schutte (Kojak) of Elizabeth City and Suzy Strickland (Nick Vaughn) of Clayton; brother, Jerry Strickland of Wendell; sister-in-law, JoAnn Poole Goldsboro; nephews, Graham Poole (Vanessa) of London, England and Dr. Daniel Poole of Goldsboro;  grandchildren, Chris, Kelly, Amanda, Brett, Maggie, Brittany and Kaitlyn and 10 great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to our neighbors, Evelyn and Danny Glover, Barbara and Myron Gay and Ann and Larry Boyette and our Church Family and friends who have been there for us during these difficult 4 months, we could have not made it without you.  May God Bless You!

Flowers accepted or memorials to Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church, 14551 Taylors Mill Rd., Middlesex, NC 27557.

Family will receive friends 1:15 – 2:15 pm Sunday at the church prior to the service.
