WARRENTON – Joshua Perry Twitty, 98, of Warrenton, died Saturday evening at Louisburg Nursing Center.
He was the son of the late William Eldridge and Rebecca Robinson Twitty. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Henry, Frank and Horace Twitty; sister, Martha Twitty Limer. In 1971 Perry married his brother Horace’s widow, Louise Murphy Twitty who also preceded him in death.
Perry spent all of his life in Warren County except over three years spent in Europe during World War II. He farmed with his brother Henry and spent many years working at Warren Cotton and Fertilizer Company. He was a long time member of Warrenton Baptist Church. He was always interested in current events, reading of history and watching antique shows.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25th at the Warrenton Baptist Church with visitation following the service. Burial will be held at 9 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Warrenton prior to the memorial service.
Perry is survived by his step-son, Tommy Twitty and wife Linda of Louisburg; step-grandson, Barrett Twitty and wife, Jeanne and their daughters, Ella and Eliza of Rolesville; step-granddaughter, Claren Nunn and her husband, Drew and their daughter, Lucy of Winston Salem. He is also survived by his nephew, Billy Twitty of Henderson and nieces Panthea Ann Twitty of Franklin, NC and Dianne Lynch of Warrenton.
