DORIS T. SHEARIN

May 28, 1920 – May 29, 2016

LOUISBURG – Doris Thompson Shearin, 96, of Louisburg, died Sunday night at her home.

Mrs. Shearin was a daughter of the late Sam and Cora T. Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Shearin; sisters, Vernelle Shelhander and Magdalene Seaman; brothers, Linwood Thompson, Sam Thompson, Archie Thompson and Theodore Thompson.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Saints Delight Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Shearin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan S. and Jimmy Keith; sons and daughters-in-law, Eldridge and Lisa Shearin; Freddie Shearin; Michael and Pam Shearin all of Louisburg; 6 grandchildren, Kathleen Cummings (Jay), Vanessia Shearin, Rodney Shearin (Christy); Clark Shearin (Joy); Johnny Keith (Amy); Megan Coffey (Brandon); Jenny Gupton; 9 great-grandchildren, Jessica Medlin, Justin Shearin, Sidney Shearin; Morgan King (David), Tristan Shearin, David Shearin; Rebecca Keith, A.J. Keith; Johnny Williams, II.
