DONNIE R. AYCOCK

December 10, 1945 – January 15, 2018

LOUISBURG – Donnie Ray Aycock, 72, of the Justice Community, passed away Monday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father John Daniel “J.D.” Aycock and his brother, Michael J. Aycock.

Donnie was an Air Force Veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He loved life, family, friends, his church, history, antique tractors and his dogs, Molly and Baxter.

Donnie loved to joke with and tease his grandchildren. He had a dry wit that stumped many. He was a man of character, a man of his word and a father figure to many.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Duke Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Nelms Aycock; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Becky Aycock of Youngsville; Jason and Amanda Aycock of Louisburg; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Josh Warren of Elm City; mother, Doris M. Aycock of Louisburg; grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Kaylin, Troy, Laci, Kati and Zach and numerous loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all for the prayers and visits during Donnie’s illness and especially thank Transitions LifeCare Hospice.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Benevolence Fund, 3976 NC Hwy. 581, Spring Hope, NC 27882.
