CHRISTINE H. GORDON LEONARD

August 17, 1924 – June 3, 2016

LOUISBURG – Elsie Christine Hayes Gordon Leonard, 91, of Louisburg, passed away Friday morning.

Mrs. Leonard was a daughter of the late Willie and Bessie L. Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilliam Gordon and Pete Leonard; sons, Craig Gordon and Danny Gordon; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

A funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday evening in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Leonard is survived by her sons, Rev. Butch Gordon and wife, Beth of Middlesex; Keith Gordon and wife, Susan of Louisburg; John Hayes of Chiefland, FL; daughters, Jane Benz and husband, Whit of Cary; Gwen Wham and husband, Bruce of Pfafftown; daughter-in-law, Maxine Gordon of Louisburg; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
